GECKO is a 2 year old organization and we are just hitting our stride.  We’ve assembled a team of expert volunteers to help others with Green Projects from Farming in the City to Renewable Energy.  We’ve launched products that have helped organizations plan for green change.  We are building an email list of people that are interested in greening their workplaces, and we are beginning to connect with them on honest and trusting terms.

Now we are wondering if we can develop sponsors without being influenced by them.  We’ve sold some sponsorships in the Green Office Guide – but only after the recommendations for this year’s Guide were finalized.  We’re seeking a website sponsor that will not detract from our brand.  We are also seeking a core mission sponsor to support our work of helping other non-profits and small businesses incorporate environmental stewardship into their business practices.

We know that by remaining true to our vision that we will close some doors – but the doors that will open to us will be the right doors.  We are seeking a total sponsorship amount of $10,000.  Our first sponsorship campaign runs from September 1st 2010 to August 31st 2011.  We are looking for the founding support necessary to bring the truth to light.  Please help us to bring about a fundemental change in human behavior.

We are not what most donors think about – we don’t pull on the heart strings.   We are not saving animals with sad faces on TV, we’re not trying to save a well known individual forest while simultaneously mailing countless letters to potential small donors, and we are not tackling global warming by selling carbon credits.

But we are saving wildlife habitat by getting corporate America to change its business practices, we’re changing peoples minds to help them understand that by changing their paper preferences they can save trees, and we are educating businesses on ways to reduce their CO2 emissions.
